    Mission for Migrant Workers Maldives (MMWM) in partnership with Ooredoo Maldives and Maldives Cricket Board as concluded the second Migrant Workers’ Cricket Carnival. The carnival ran hand-in-hand with a health camp and a legal awareness camp.

    The Cricket Carnival, a one-day tournament was held on 03rd December 2022, Friday. The opening of the carnival was attended by Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives Sr Munu Muahawar, Sri Lankan High Commissioner to the Maldives AMJ Sadiq and the Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo Maldives Hussain Niyaz, Director of Sales and Distribution Sachin Sarna.

    The tournament was officiated by the Maldives Cricket Board, and was eventually won by Friends Club Bangladesh. The team won their final against Unity Cricket Club from Sri Lanka.

    MMWM expressed gratitude to the main partner of the event, Ooredoo Maldives, for their support in conducting the second Cricket Carnival, much like its participation in the first one.

    Similar to the previous edition, this year’s carnival was partnered by WHO Maldives, Society for Health Education (SHE), Medicos, Health Protection Agency (HPA) and Life Support. Attendees were provided free medical screening through the health camp, and given legal awareness. For the legal awareness camp, Transparency Maldives, Public Interest Law Center, International Organization for Migrant and Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM) partnered with MMWM.

    Ace Travels Maldives had been the event’s official travel partner, which was highlighted in gratitude by MMWM. Additionally, MMWM expressed gratitude to Happy Market, Maldivian Red Crescent and One Online for their relative contributions.
