    Revenues to government increase 10.5% in November

    MIRA reports a 10.5% increment in revenues in November 2023

    The revenues collected to the Maldives government increased 10.5% in November 2023, reports the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).

    As per MIRA, the total revenue total in November stood at MVR 1.67 billion, out of which 69.32 million were collected in US Dollars.

    The increment in revenue of November 2023, is mainly due to the increment in the collection of TGST and GGST. Additionally, the collection of expatriate quota fee in this year, along with the dues collection of Tourism Land Rent led to the comparative increment of revenues in the review month compared to November 2022.

    The revenue collection in November 2023 is also a 9.3% increment from projections as well.

    The total tax revenue collection in the review month reached MVR 1.4 billion while the non-tax revenue total in the review month stood at MVR 269.1 million.

    Top Revenue Contributors

    1. GST: 67.16% (MVR 1.12 billion)
    2. Income Tax: 6.60% (MVR 110.8 million)
    3. Green Tax: 5.10% (MVR 84.4 million)
    4. Airport Development Fee: 4.50% (MVR 74.3 million)
    5. Departure Tax: 4.34% (MVR 72.9 million)
