The Maldives Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has unveiled the special procedure to reintegrate out-of-service health professionals into active service through the wage employment process.
The procedure was unveiled at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Health for the purpose, which is aimed at streamlining the reintegration process and bypasses traditional employment procedures.
The initiative is a key component of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration’s “Hafuthaa 14” (Week 14) roadmap.
The special procedure is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health and the Civil Service Commission (CSC), which allows for the creation of a registered pool of out-of-service health professionals.
The professionals can be swiftly reintegrated into the workforce under the wage employment policy based on their education qualifications, experience, and skillset, bypassing the time-consuming traditional employment procedures.
Moreover, the procedure also facilitates the return of experienced health professionals to active duty thereby leveraging their expertise in enhancing the existing healthcare system.
