Dhiraagu in collaboration with Women in Tech Maldives have launched Girls to Code Dhidhdhoo Edition.

The initiative aims to empower young girls from Haa Alifu atoll Dhidhdhoo by providing them essential coding skills using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The program kicked off on July 08, 2024, Monday and will continued until September 2024.

Girls to Code is designed specifically for girls aged 10 to 13 years, with the goal of inspiring and empowering them to enter technology fields.

“Inclusion and the empowerment of women are key focus areas of Dhiraagu’s CSR programme. Through this initiative, we aim to provide girls from HA. Dhidhdhoo with essential coding skills and boost their confidence,” said Bishaara Hameed, Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility at Dhiraagu during the opening ceremony.

“This programme is more than just learning to code; it’s about empowering you to create, innovate, and learn crucial digital skills for the 21st century,” said Mariyam Asna Saeed, President of Women in Tech Maldives.

The Girls to Code is a series introduced by Dhiraagu and Women in Tech Maldives with a regional focus across Maldives. The Dhidhdhoo edition is the series’ fifth edition, following the success of Girls to Code Fuvahmulah, Thinadhoo, Kulhudhuffushi, and Laamu.
