Registration for the brand-new Office & Resort – 5K Team Event category of this year’s Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) is open now.

Dhiraagu said this new category was launched to provide the opportunity for people working at different resorts and offices to participate as a team and represent their organizations at a competitive level.

Employees of offices and resorts can now sign up in teams of four. Dhiraagu said that registration fee for each member is MVR 250.

“Any employee of any organization can participation in this category, including resorts, government entities, SOEs and the private sector,” Dhiraagu said adding that an organization may register multiple teams to represent them.

Winners for the Office Resort category will be chosen based on the sum of the finishing time of all members of the team who complete the race within the 45-minute cut-off time.

Dhiraagu has announced prices for the first three places of the event, which include:

    • 1st Place: MVR 10,000
    • 2nd Place: MVR 8,000
    • 3rd Place: MVR 6,000

Dhiraagu further said that the teams can consist of all-male, all-female or a mix of both, and noted that the participants signing up for this event cannot run under any other category.

The DMRR is the first and only international run held in the Maldives, listed in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar with a World Athletics-certified race route. This year marks the 15th edition of the largest and most anticipated run in the country.

This year’s DMRR is scheduled on October 25, 2024 kicking off at Central Park, Hulhumale’.
