    Planning Ministry awards Hoarafushi Airport Coastal Protection Project to MTCC

    Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Thursday, 01st July, has signed on an agreement with Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for their latest project.

    According to MTCC, under the new assignment the contractor will execute the Coastal Protection Project at Haa Alif Hoarafushi Airport.

    The signing ceremony held on Thursday morning, was attended by the top-brass of the ministry as well as the state-owned enterprise. Chief Executive Officer of MTCC, Mr. Adam Azim signed on the agreement on behalf of the company while Ms. Fathimath Shaan Farooq, the Director General of the ministry signed on behalf of state.

    Moreover, the signing ceremony was graced by local parliamentarian Ahmed Saleem.

    Scope of work for the project consists of construction of a quay wall spanning 2,861 meters, which will run on both sides of the runway. Furthermore, MTCC will construct a concrete culvert on the causeway which connects the island of Hoarafushi with its airport.

    MTCC reports the project value at a total of MVR90.5 million with a project completion duration of 360 days.
