Maldivian, the national carrier of the island nation, has flown its widebody Airbus A-330 flights to Cochin and Trivandrum, India to cater to rising demands.
Managing Director of Maldivian, Ibrahim Iyas said the airline observed significant demand for outbound travels on Sunday, due to which it roped in the A-330 for operations.
Cochin and Trivandrum are considered the most frequented destinations by Maldivians for medical trips. Outbound travel of locals have increased currently owing to school holidays.
“We operated the A-330 on Sunday exclusively, since there was sufficient traffic requiring the aircraft’s operation,” Iyas commented.
Maldivian usually brings in its larger aircraft in the fleet to cater to growing demands to international destinations. The widebody was officially added to the national carrier’s fleet on January 06th this year.
The aircraft is currently operating to three Chinese destinations; Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu.
