    Maldives welcomes over 590,000 tourists, up 4% from last year

    Maldives welcomes more than 590,000 tourists so far in 2025

    Maldives has attracted more than 590,000 tourists as of March 26, 2025, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

    The ministry’s statistics has shown a total arrival of 593,956 by the review date in annual terms, which is a 4.0% increase compared to the corresponding period last year. In the same period last year, Maldives welcomed 570,898 travelers and 500,609 a year before that.

    From March 1 to 26, Maldives welcomed 165,002 which is also a 2.4% increment compared to the same period last year.

    The daily arrival average in annual terms is 6,988.

    China leads the top source markets with Russia coming in second. The top five spots in the ranking do not show any changes to their places from last year.

    Distribution of Arrivals to Facilities

    • Resorts – 410,028 tourists | 69.0%
    • Guesthouses – 151,393 tourists | 25.5%
    • Hotels – 17,172 tourists | 2.9%
    • Tourist Vessels – 14,936 tourists | 2.5%
