An automatic organic waste composter transforms 2.5 to 3 tons of kitchen waste into 1.5 tons of nutrient-rich fertilizer weekly. Other systems—such as in-vessel shredders for garden waste, bottle and tin compactors, and incinerators—support the safe, responsible disposal of various types of waste. The result is a closed-loop waste management ecosystem that enriches the resort’s gardens while safeguarding the surrounding environment.

Sustainable Farming with a Fresh Twist
At the southern tip of Maadhoo Island lies a thriving hydroponic garden—a testament to innovation in sustainable dining. Producing up to 70% of the resort’s lettuce supply and a variety of herbs and vegetables, this soilless cultivation system drastically reduces water consumption compared to traditional farming methods, using just 50 liters per kilogram of produce.
