President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, India, on Sunday.

In an official message, President Muizzu expressed profound shock and sorrow over the incident, which claimed the lives of innocent civilians and left several others injured. He described the attack as a stark reminder of the persistent threat terrorism poses to global peace, security, and democratic values.

Reaffirming the Maldives’ unwavering commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, President Muizzu called for greater international solidarity and cooperation to address the scourge of violent extremism.

On behalf of the Maldivian people, the President extended his deepest sympathies to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery to those injured in the attack. He also expressed his thoughts and prayers for Prime Minister Modi and the people of India during this challenging time.

President Muizzu additionally conveyed his condolences via a message posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account earlier today.
