President of the Maldives, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, held a high-level meeting today with His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at Al-Mina Palace.
During the meeting, President Muizzu expressed his deep appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Government of Saudi Arabia for their warm hospitality and continuous support. He also extended sincere gratitude for the exemplary services provided to pilgrims during this year’s Hajj, including the Maldivian delegation.
The discussions between the two leaders focused on further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia. Both parties explored opportunities to enhance the brotherly ties and cooperation in ways that would yield mutual benefit.
President Muizzu was accompanied by a senior delegation, including Minister of Finance and Treasury Moosa Zameer, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chief of Protocol Mohamed Shahudy.
The Saudi Crown Prince was joined by an equally high-level delegation comprising Deputy Governor of Makkah His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mashal bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of the National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef, and Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.
President Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed are currently in Saudi Arabia performing the Hajj pilgrimage, accompanied by a high-level Maldivian delegation. Their visit is being hosted by the Saudi government in a gesture that underscores the close and brotherly relations between the two nations.
