The Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel on Saturday arrived in Türkiye to attend the Organization for Islamic Corporation’s (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers.
In a post on X, the minister confirmed having arrived at Türkiye’s capital, Istanbul where he was welcomed by the Maldives Ambassador to Türkiye, Lieutenant General (Retd) Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef.
The minister also expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended by the Turkish government. He affirmed working closely with allied Islamic countries at the OIC meeting, and advocating on the most pressing issues of the Ummah.
Maldives become a member of the Organization for Islamic Corporation in 1976. The organization currently consists of 57 member states.
