    Ooredoo Maldives promises investor support towards digitalization

    Ooredoo Maldives assures readiness in supporting investors with connectivity and other resources to enhance digitalization efforts in the Maldives, says Chief Executive Khalid Al-Hamadi.

    Al-Hamadi said this at the Maldives-Singapore Business Forum 2025, while speaking on the ‘From Foundation to Future: Exploring Investment Partnership’ panel discussion.

    The panel discussion focused on utilizing submarine cables for enhanced connectivity and strengthening sustainable development practices, tourism and other key areas. Al-Hamadi, while speaking at the panel emphasized the importance of connectivity in creating investment opportunities.

    “Maldives has a sophisticated and responsibly-utilized technological infrastructure, and while six international submarine cables connect the world, Ooredoo will leverage these advancements to provide latest and most up-to-date services through its data centers and disaster recovery facilities,” Al-Hamadi commented.

    Al-Hamadi further shared the vision of establishing technological infrastructure in the Maldives capable of generating new GPU and AI technology.

    Besides Ooredoo Maldives CEO, the Minister of Environment Thoriq Ibrahim and the Managing Director of Villa Group Ibrahim Siyad Gasim participated in the panel discussion.
