Tuesday, 27th July – MTCC honcho along with his team had inspected the progress of Haa Alif Ihavandhoo ferry terminal development project.
The ferry terminal developed at the upper-north island is part of the first phase of the “Integrated National Public Ferry Network” project.
According to the contractor, the project aims to link the islands and atolls via a high-speed ferry network to strengthen domestic public transportation via sea. Moreover, it was earlier reported that the project will be implemented through a three phases.
The first phase of the project consists of northern atolls, namely Haa Alif, Haa Dhaal and Shaviyani atolls.
Furthermore, MTCC claims the integrated ferry networks will introduce a “reliable, efficient (sic) and sustainable” passenger ferry services to all the administrative islands of the country. The project aims to increase affordability and convenience among those opting for public transportation via sea.
