The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has revealed that a total of 5,067 applications have been submitted so far for the latest housing schemes introduced under the current administration.
According to information the ministry shared with state media, out of the total 5,067 applications, 3,434 individuals have applied for flats while 1,633 individuals have applied for land plots.
The current administration officially opened application window earlier on January 18, and said that interested applicants were required to submit their forms through the designated portal via eFaas login.
The deadline for land plot applications is set at 23:59hrs of March 5, 2026 while the deadline for flat applications is set at 23:59hrs of April 18.
Under the current housing policy, the government aims to allocate 7,900 flats and 15,000 land plots with each plot spanning 1,250 square feet.
Land plots are distributed under two primary categories. The first category is specifically designated for registered residents of Male’ with priority given to this group. Plots for this category will be allocated from both the Greater Male’ Region and Rasmale’. The second category is open to residents from other islands who are currently living in Male’. Applicants in this category will be eligible for land plots exclusively in Rasmale’.
