Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) installs ATG systems on its fuel barges for the first time. The company has launched a pilot project and started the work aboard the barge “Bunike”, part of its own fleet.
Automatic Tank Gauging (ATG) lets staff read fuel levels straight from the tank. No manual checks required.
The new system has been installed to track fuel levels around the clock, FSM adds. The technology reads each tank accurately and never stops. Crews see exactly how much fuel sits on board at any moment.
FSM expects clear gains with this new installation, and with it safer operations. Customers will notice this change immediately since FSM can now deliver fuel more reliably and account for every litre.
FSM has wrestled with two problems for years. Dispensing fuel from the barges took effort. Tracking what remained in the tanks took even more, and the ATG systems is the answer for both.
