One of Russia’s largest domestic carriers, S7 Airlines, has announced its direct flight operations to the Maldives; scheduled from Novosibirsk to Malé from October 30, 2026 onward.
This marks the first-ever regular service connecting Novosibirsk to the Maldives outside the Moscow aviation hub.
The airline reportedly will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays using its Airbus A320 flights. The outbound flight departs Tolmachevo International Airport (OVB) in Novosibirsk at 04:25hrs, arriving at Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé at 13:00hrs local time.
The return flight leaves Malé at 14:10hrs and arrives back in Novosibirsk at 02:30hrs the following morning. Jaipur, India acts as the technical refueling stop for this route.
S7 Airlines already commenced reservations, with tickets on sale through the airline’s official website, mobile application, and sales offices. One-way fares begin at 70,000 rubles (USD 832.11) for the light fare with carry-on baggage only. Fares including checked baggage begin at 85,000 rubles (USD 1,010.42). Round-trip fares with baggage start at approximately 93,400 rubles (USD 1,110.28).
TEZ Tour opened package tour sales departing from Novosibirsk on the new S7 service, with early booking discounts of up to 50% on accommodation. Package tours for November start at 176,013 rubles (USD 2,092.33) per person for double occupancy.
S7’s announcement adds to a string of global carriers making similar announcements of expanding their services to the Maldives. Mohamed Ameen, the Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation earlier on September 10, said that seven airlines are gearing to launch seasonal operations to the Maldives during the 2026 final quarter.
Russia ranks second strongest source market to the Maldives, closely following China. With S7’s expansion announcement, Maldives can better position itself to welcome potentially larger influxes of Russian travelers.
