Monday, 16th August – Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has announced integration of online-payment access for services used by importers through their customer portal “My Bandharu.”

This new feature introduction comes as part of the corporation’s strategy to modernize port’s services with the concentrated aim of providing “speedy, convenient services.” Moreover, MPL’s continued efforts of digitizing and improving financial services aim to maintain compliance with the directives of Ministry of Finance to “reduce dependency on paper money, coins, cheques and other forms of bank-notes.”

Effective from Sunday, 15 August 2021, MPL’s “My Bandharu” portal will feature the online-payment services which the company had urged from all the importers on exclusively utilizing while making required payments for services.

Furthermore, MPL announced on discontinuing their service of accepting payments through bank transfers to the company’s accounts effective from 15 August, following the inception of the online payment mechanisms.

Additionally, MPL had urged shipping agents and all the other customers who use the company’s services not available through the online portal to continue through the current arrangements available to make payments.
