Authentic Maldives has opened a new outlet of theirs at Kuda Vilingili Resort, which was officially inaugurated by Minister of Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom.
Furthermore, this marks the fourth outlet of the state initiated souvenir and gifts shop distinct with Maldives culture.
Moreover, the Japanese Ambassador to Maldives Ms. Keiko Yanai officiated the ‘Authentic Maldives’ official website at the ceremony as well. Reports confirm the website is powered by the government of Japan under the UNDP Maldives Sustainable Economic Empowerment and Development for SME’s (SEEDS) Projects.
In addition to the Minister of Tourism and the Japanese Ambassador to Maldives, other notable guests of the event included Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Ms. Yumna Maumoon along with Chairman of Kuda Vilingili Resort Dr. Mohamed Ali.
The Authentic Maldives is an initiative directly from the Ministry of Economic Development in order to promote genuine local arts and craft works and other products. The venture is operationalized through the Business Operation Center under the mandate of the ministry.
Moreover, the initiative came to introduction in January 2020 in a move to nurture the creative entrepreneurs in the country and provide them with a platform and opportunity to promote their work.
