Visit Maldives has launched ‘Redefining MICE’ global campaign in order to promote the island nation as a preferable MICE destination.

Moreover, the campaign was launched during a special luncheon held on the sidelines of the MICE India and Luxury Travel (MILT) Congress 2021, held at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Tuesday 05th October.

MICE Tourism stands for ‘Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions’ which is a growing tourism trend across the globe which attracts tourists visiting for large-scale meetings and events while the main goal of the tourism concept is to bring together professionals of any given industry and foster connections between them.

In addition to this, MICE Tourism is also popular in promoting new ideas and pushing growth in any economic sector of field. Travel trade fairs held on national or international scales are prime examples of MICE Tourism products.

According to Visit Maldives, the purpose of the campaign is to promote the island nation as an emerging top destination for MICE tourism.

“Maldives is unparalleled in offering that quintessential ‘laid-back’ atmosphere for thought provoking and stimulating discussions. It is a special honor to launch our Redefining MICE campaign here at the MILT Congress,” said the Managing Director of Visit Maldives Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed.

He further added, “there is no setting more appropriate to introduce our MICE offerings than here in India, the most important market for Maldives tourism today.”

Furthermore, during the launching event Visit Maldives along with industry partners; Baglioni Resort Maldives and Villa Hotels and Resorts gave a presentation on offers available currently for the MICE segment.

The campaign activities will reportedly run from October until November 2021, which will include global media campaigns, participation in MICE exhibitions, social media campaigns along with distribution of digital brochures and videos.

Meanwhile, MILT Congress is a ‘premium platform’ providing opportunity to industry leaders who represent India’s top corporations, prominent associations, film production houses, leading travel agencies and premium destination wedding planners.

The congress reportedly conducted over 3600 meetings, more than 20 hours of business networking and two days dedicated towards one-to-one business appointments.
