    MPL announces amending service prices from Jan 2022 onward

    Maldives Ports Limited confirms changes to service prices effective from January 2022 onward

    Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) confirms that the commercial harbor authority will be expanding its service prices effective from January 2022 onward.

    In a circular released by the commercial harbor authority, changes have been planned by the company towards re-shipping, express clearing and late submission services. Moreover, MPL affirms these changes are in line with the provision of faster and robust services to all forms of importers.

    Furthermore, MPL attests that one-day prior express charges incurred on 20-feeter containers will stand at MVR1,060 while the price on 40-feeters in this service will be MVR2,120. Other price changes include;

    • Same-day Express Charge (20-feeter) – MVR1,500
    • Same-day Express Charge (40-feeter) – MVR3,000
    • Container Re-Shipping (20-feeter) – MVR795
    • Container Re-Shipping (40-feeter) – MVR1,590

    In addition to this, the company confirms that the late submission of clearance documents will now incur a penalty fee of MVR1,494.60.

    Meanwhile, failure on clearing containers within the provided one-hour clearance window will incur a fine of MVR795 on 20-feeter containers and MVR1,414.0 on 40-feeter containers on a per-day basis.
