    State spends MVR616.1mn by late January 2022, deficit reaches MVR123.5mn

    According to the latest updates from Ministry of Finance, the cumulative total of state expenditure as of 20th January 2022 has reached MVR616.1 million.

    The cumulative total of state revenue by the review period has reached MVR492.6 million.

    The expenditure composition confirms that 75% of the expenses have been directed towards recurrent needs and the remaining 25% on capital expenses. On the other hand, revenue composition reveals 70% of the total came from tax revenues and the remaining 30% came from non-tax sources.

    Meanwhile, the overall balance for the period is a deficit of MVR123.5 million.

    As of 20th January 2022, the cumulative total of tax revenues stood at MVR344.8 million and the cumulative total of non-tax revenues stood at MVR147.0 million.

    Moreover, the cumulative total of recurrent expenditure as of the review period reached MVR464.5 million and the cumulative total of capital expenditure by the same period reached MVR151.6 million.

    As of the review period the Sovereign Development Fund (SDF) size has reached MVR3,896.0 million (MVR3.9 billion).
