Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) the sister company of State Trading Organization (STO) has announced that it will be increasing its operational window of the fuel shed in Hulhumale’.
According to the fuel retailer, its Hulhumale’ outlet will commence operating on a 24/7 basis starting from first of Ramadan. This year, the first of the Islamic sacred month coincides with 03rd of April from the Gregorian calendar.
The only fuel stations that operate on a 24/7 basis currently are situated in Male’ City.
Meanwhile, the company’s Managing Director Mr. Mohamed Gasam has confirmed the company’s newest policy. He claimed the decision was approved to facilitate easy access of fuel for the residents living in the satellite town.
Reports indicate that the local population in Hulhumale’ has already exceeded 100,000 with an estimated 80% of them owning vehicles.
However, the town currently has only one fuel station by FSM while another outlet is operated by Villa Hakatha.
