    MTCC RTL bus fleet increases capacity with 15 new additions

    MTCC adds 15 new double-deckers, expanding RTL bus fleet to 46

    Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has unveiled 15 new additions to its RTL Bus network.

    During a special ceremony held on 15th June, Wednesday evening, the Maldives President Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih officially unveiled the double-decker buses which will spring into action effective from Thursday, 16th June.

    The transport and contracting company acquired the additional vehicles in order to expand its RTL bus network and operations as it announced introduction of two new routes within the Greater Male’ region and improved reach within Hulhumale’ Phase II.

    While operations to the recently populated zone in the satellite town commenced on 30th September 2021, the residents living in the area reported of exhaustive time intervals between bus trips.

    MTCC confirms introduction of two new routes bringing the total RTL routes to eight within the Greater Male’ region while decreasing the travel duration from Male’ west-end to Hulhumale’ Phase II to 15 minutes during peak hours and to 20 minutes during off-peak hours.

    With the addition of the 15 new double-deckers, the RTL bus fleet expands its capacity to 46 vehicles.
