Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced three of its BML Scholarship Fund recipients for 2022.

According to the national bank of the island nation, the finalized recipients are Ahmed Nisaal Abdulla, Aminath Maisa Niyaz and Ismail Zakwan Shihad.

“Bank of Maldives is proud to award the first of our fully funded scholarships to three outstanding young Maldivians. The scholarship offers the opportunity to develop the next generation of leaders in the country and we are pleased to have selected candidates who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements and leadership potential,” said Mr. Timothy Sawyer, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BML.

He further said, “For the bank, supporting the academic growth of young adults with a dedication to their communities is a great way to give back and invest in the future of the country.”

As per BML, the Scholarship Fund is fully funded merit-based international scholarship through which recipients choose any undergraduate program in a banking and finance related area from 200 universities across the world.

The bank launched its scholarship program in November 2021 as the first of 12 high impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate the lead up to BML’s 40th anniversary.
