    Customs report revenue increment by 44% in June

    Maldives Customs reports revenue increment by 44% in June 2022

    Maldives Customs Service report an increment of 44% in revenues for the month of June 2022.

    The authority made an earning of MVR1.4 million from royalties and MVR394 million from import duty and export revenues.

    Imports saw a 78% increase including fuel, which remains one of the major import commodities to the fuel-dependent country. On the other hand, imports excluding fuel bumped up by 65%.

    Imports including fuel stood at MVR5.2 billion and excluding fuel stood at MVR3.9 billion.

    Exports from the Maldives increased by 60%, with total valuation of export commodities at MVR247 million.

    Major import destinations include Oman (22% – MVR1.1billion), India (12% – MVR636 million), China (11% – MVR558 million), UAE (8% – MVR435 million) and Malaysia (8% – MVR428 million).

    Export destinations include Thailand (60% – MVR148 million), Germany (10% – MVR25 million), United Kingdom (8% – MVR19 million), India (3% – MVR8 million) and France (3% – MVR7 million).
