    BroadCom signs with sponsors ahead of Broadcast Awards 2022

    Maldives Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom) signs with sponsors of the first ever “Maldives Broadcast Awards 2022.”

    Signing took place on Sunday afternoon, 14th August 2022 at the conference hall of H. Meerumaage. The upcoming event’s sponsors, individual awards sponsors and other partners attended the party. The sponsors include;

    • Associate Partner – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)
    • Official Sponsors – State Electric Company (STELCO) and Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM)
    • Audit Partner – Crowe Maldives
    • Hosting Partner – Housing Development Corporation (HDC)
    • Digital Partner – Ooredoo Maldives

    In addition to the aforementioned sponsors, State Trading Organization (STO), Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), Maldivian Airline, Al-Shaali Marine, MedTech, Litus and Fenaka Corporation signed as individual awards sponsors.

    At Sunday’s signing ceremony, the expert judges panel was announced. The six-judge panel include;

    1. Mariyam Shaugee – experienced professional in TV productions
    2. Massood Ali – notable TV presenter and host
    3. Dr. Lujain Ismail Shafeeq – broadcasting and journalism professional
    4. Imjad Ali – strategic communications and marketing expert
    5. Mohamed Niyaz (Tedry) – decorated movie producer
    6. Amitabh Pashupati Revi – notable Indian TV news anchor

    President of BroadCom, veteran TV presenter and host Ms. Mariyam Waheeda praised the panel of judges. She had the highest gratification towards the professionals, whom she called experts of their relative fields.

    The broadcast awards is split into three major categories, which include;

    • Industry
    • Journalism
    • Production

    Awards from the production category are mainly focused on broadcast channels, and individuals related to the field. Individual entrants are eligible if their content were broadcast via a licensed broadcaster.

    For the first edition of the awards, BroadCom confirms a total of 170 entrants submitted their applications.

    The event’s host has yet to announce the official date of the awarding ceremony.
