    State spend MVR4.18bn on Covid-19 efforts by Q2-2022

    According to the most recent update from Ministry of Finance, state’s total Covid-19 spending is at MVR4.18 billion (from Q1-2020 to Q2-2022).

    The latest update from the ministry further confirms state’s health and social spending from Q1-2020 until Q2-2022 reached MVR2.39 billion. Economic Response Plan (ERP) spending had reached MVR1.79 billion by the last reviewed quarter.

    Moreover, under the Income Support Allowance a total of 93,906 disbursements have been made. The total disbursement amounts to MVR421 million.

    Under the Covid-19 Recovery Loan schemes, 419 parties have been assisted. Ministry of Finance reports MVR585.9 million and USD8.0 million of total disbursements have been made as recovery loans through Bank of Maldives (BML).

    On other hand, a total of 2,133 parties were assisted through the recovery loan from SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC). The financial institute disbursed a total of MVR367.3 million in recovery loans.

    BML also made a total disbursement of MVR346.0 million to 56 parties under the tranch-1 of the EIB loan scheme. Another MVR291.8 million were disbursed to 128 parties under tranch-2 of the same scheme.

    SDFC disbursed a total of MVR45.9 million to 82 parties under the ‘Viyafaari Dhirun’ loan scheme as well.
