Ooredoo Maldives has signed on as the title coverage partner with MediaNet for the upcoming FIFA World Cup – Qatar 2022.
The telecommunication provider’s CEO and Managing Director Khalid Al-Hamadi and CCEO Hussain Niyaz signed the agreement on behalf of Ooredoo, while MediaNet’s CEO and Managing Director Ahmed Shafeeu and COO Ahmed Nabah signed on behalf of the rebroadcaster.
Local broadcasters Raajje TV and ICE Plus had signed partnership agreement with Ooredoo Maldives as well. MediaNet, which acquired rebroadcasting license for the most coveted football event in the world, confirms providing rebroadcasting licenses to both Raajje TV and ICE Plus.
At the signing event, Ooredoo’s front man Mr. Hamadi said, “Football has always been a sport that holds a special place in the hearts of Maldivians. Our aim for this year’s World Cup is to bring a grand and exciting experience for the supporters.”
MediaNet COO Mr. Nabah added, “For the first time in history, we are proud to facilitate exclusivity to local channels. FIFA World Cup 2022 will be broadcast on Raajje Tv and ICE Plus. It is a pleasure to partner up with Ooredoo.”
The football event of the year is expected to kick-off on 20th November 2022.
