Island Aviation Services (IAS) has announced that it will increase the basic pay of its employees. The news was confirmed by the company’s Managing Director Mohamed Mihad.

Mihad made the confirmation at the annual staff night, noting that the pay increase will take effect from March onwards. The changes also include an increment in pension savings.

IAS Managing Director also said that though the company stopped providing certain allowances amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the company will once again resume them.

Mihad also said that the IAS loan scheme will provide employees with loans between MVR 25,000 and MVR 50,000. Additionally, fuel charges paid by employees will be deducted effectively from March.

Salaries of the employees in the general cadre will be harmonized as well, and there will be a positive pay change from next month.

Meanwhile, IAS also claimed that an employee’s total number of years spent working with the company will be counted from the date of their initial hire if an employee were to return to the company after resigning.

“This change was brought about in order to recognize the employees’ contributions to the company before their resignation. We are also happy to announce an interest free loan scheme will be introduced for the company’s employees soon,” Mihad said.
