State Trading Organization (STO) and Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO); a sister company of STO, has participated in the Gulf Food Expo to showcase their products.

The expo was held at Dubai’s World Trade Center from 20th to 24th February.

The Gulf Food Expo is considered among one of the biggest showcasing of food and beverage products in the world. The expo attracts several international food and beverage suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, and other key stakeholders of the industry seeking opportunities to enhance their business portfolio,  network, and connect with prospective partners.

This year’s expo attracted over 5,000 exhibitors from 125 countries, and this was the event’s 28th edition.

STO showcased the Choice brand of products, of which the company is the prime distributor in the Maldives. STO showcased Choice brand products which included condense milk, cup noodles, basmati rice, sunflower and vegetable oil products, among other products.

On the other hand, MIFCO is showcasing a variety of fish products it manufacture and sell both in the local and international market.

According to the largest state-owned enterprise in the Maldives, both STO and MIFCO partook in the event to promote its products internationally, potentially to seek new markets to expand their business portfolios.

Commenting about this, STO Managing Director Husen Amr said that the company has found opportunities to market its products in the international market through this initiative.
