    Government expenditure at MVR 5.49bn, revenues at MVR4.75bn

    State expenditure reach MVR5.49 billion, revenues at MVR4.75 billion

    The cumulative total of state expenditure reached MVR5.49 billion as of 23rd February 2023, according to the Ministry of Finance.

    On the other hand, the state revenues inclusive of foreign grants reached MVR4.75 billion by the review date. The overall balance for the period is a deficit of MVR734.6 million.

    The cumulative tax revenue total is currently at MVR4.0 billion, while the cumulative total of non-tax revenues is at MVR738.5 million. Grants received to the government so far in 2023 is at MVR6.8 million.

    Top Revenue Contributors

    1. TGST: MVR1.4 billion
    2. Corporate Income Tax: MVR772.8 million
    3. GGST: MVR489.4 million
    4. Import Duties: MVR420.7 million
    5. Airport Development Fee: MVR116.7 million

    The cumulative total of recurrent expenditure is at MVR3.95 billion, while the cumulative total of capital expenditure is at MVR1.54 billion.
