Avas Ride, the Maldivian equivalent to Uber and the only prominent ride-booking/ride-sharing service in the country, launched a promotional campaign specifically focused on taxi drivers.

Under the promotion, drivers can register at any Avas Ride tax center and receive three months of free access to the center.

“We recognize that taxi drivers face various challenges in their line of work, and we are eager to support them in any way we can,” a spokesperson from Avas Ride said.

Free access to the Avas Ride application will allow drivers access to the country’s most extensive taxi fleet, and help them maximize their earnings. Moreover, a free center access for three months will reduce the center fees incurred on the part of the drivers.

Avas Ride will be handling any fees associated with the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation enhancing easy registration for the drivers.

Interested drivers must provide necessary documentation, including annual fee, insurance, roadworthiness, vehicle registry, owner’s ID card and driving license copy, copy of taxi permit, and a reference letter from a prior center.

The campaign will be effective until 15th May 2023, added Avas Ride.
