BEOND sets sight to launch flights to Hongkong

BEOND, the world’s first ultra-luxury leisure airline with its primary hub based in the Maldives, is targeting affluent travelers from Hong Kong and hopes to fly the destination in 2024.

The airline is expected to commence its flight operations in Autumn 2023.

Earlier on August 14, BEOND announced that it received the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) approval from the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA), which it viewed as a step forward in grabbing its Air Operations Certificate in the Maldives.

The carrier led by Tero Taskila as Chief Executive Officer and Max Nilov as Chief Strategy Officer is all gearing up to launch the operations in September 2023.

The airline is a joint venture between United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Arabesque and Maldives’ SIMDI Group. The carrier has an ambitious goal of providing its top-tier luxury flight services to over 50 destinations by 2028.

BEOND sets itself apart from the other luxury carrier contemporaries by standing tall as the new-age carrier with a sole focus on premium travel in the leisure sector. The airline will fly no economy class seats, and will initially operate Airbus A321s with only 68 lie-flat business class seats arranged in a 2-2 configuration.

This is a unique model compared to the premium-cabin-only airlines such as French La Compagnie that almost always focus on the business travel market segment.
