Four Seasons Kuda Huraa held a grand send-off for 21 “adventurous” Maldivians who are all set to travel to Palau to advance their hospitality careers.

The send-off ceremony held at an avant-garde venue in the luxury slip was graced by Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom. The minister spoke with the apprentices embarking on the year-long journey aboard Four Seasons Explorer; a 39-meter (128-foot) luxury catamaran.

The Four Seasons Explorer features three decks, 10 staterooms, a PADI five-star dive center, restaurant, bar, lounge and a library.

Speaking to the aspiring tourism industry professionals, Dr. Mausoom said “ambassadors come in all forms”, and it was their responsibility to uphold the reputation of the Maldivian hospitality abroad.

At the event, the Regional Vice President and General Manager at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru, Armando Kraenzlin said, “It’s important to us to celebrate the ambitions of our adventurous colleagues as they head into the magic of one of the world’s last remaining natural frontiers.”

“We’re delighted to be able to give them the opportunity to enhance their careers in this way as they immerse themselves in heartfelt hospitality in a truly incredible environment.”

The hospitality initiative was part of a wider collaboration between the Maldives and Palau with the “aim of broadening horizons for their young people.”

Palau, located in the western Pacific Ocean, is known for its natural beauty, with 340 pristine islands, half a million square kilometers (193,000 square miles) of protected marine territory, and a 4,000-year-old rich cultural heritage.
