The first floor of the Ministry of Finance’s building has been renamed the ‘Mujuthaba Floor’ to honor Ahmed Mujuthaba, who served in the ministry for fourteen years.

Mujuthaba was serving as Chief Procurement Executive at the ministry when he suddenly passed away in July 2022.

The ministry announced on social media that the floor has been renamed in his name to honor the legacy of Mujuthaba. The floor houses the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).

The renaming and unveiling of the floor’s title was inaugurated by Mujuthaba’s brother, Murtaza Majdhy.

Mujuthaba earned his first degree in accounting from Malaysia’s Multimedia University, after which he earned a Masters Degree specializing in Business Administration from Open University in 2012.

He joined the ministry in 2008, and had served as the Secretary for the National Tender Board. Mujuthaba served as the Vice Chairman of the Bid Committee, the Chairman of Capital Market Development Authority’s (CMDA) Audit and Risk Committee, and was a non-executive director of CMDA as well.
