Heidelberg Materials UK, a British-based building materials company headquartered in Maidenhead, has acquired B&A Group, one of the leading construction soil and aggregate recycling companies in south west England.

The Bristol-based B&A Group employs a team of 70 and specializes in the supply of recycled and primary aggregate, site clearance, earthworks, land remediation and sustainable land regeneration.

B&A Group had its most successful year to date in 2023, tuning over in excess of GBP 50 million making a pre-tax profit of GBP 9.1 million.

The acquisition of B&A Group is another example of Heidelberg Materials’ commitment to reaching net zero by conserving natural materials and promoting the circular economy by recycling, reusing, and reducing the use of primary raw materials.

CEO of Heidelberg Materials, Simon Willis said, “B&A Group is a successful business with an unrivalled reputation in the south west, underpinned by a strong team.”

“This announcement follows the completion of our acquisition of Mick George Limited and adds an additional source of high-quality recycled materials for use in our sustainable building materials.

“It is an exciting opportunity for us, and I am looking forward to working with the B&A Group to grow the business further.”

Established in 1993 and managed by the Berkely family, B&A Group is a key player in regeneration of Bristol and the surrounding area.

Earlier on May 17, 2024, Heidelberg Materials confirmed of its acquisition of B&A Group.

B&A Group joins the recycling business line of Heidelberg Materials, headed by Recycling Managing Director James Whitelaw.
