Island Aviation reports it expects arrival of the Maldivian flagship carrier’s latest fleet additions in November 2022. The airline, Maldivian, purchased the planes for fleet expansion, earlier this year. The national carrier is dropping its older Dash-6 otters in favor of ATR contemporaries. Meanwhile, a photo of a Maldivian ATR-72 at Toulouse-Blenjek Airport in France was circulated on social media on Saturday, 01st October. The latest update from Ministry of Finance corroborates state’s expenditure has hit MVR26.5 billion as of 27th September. According to the ministry, revenues earned by the same period stood at MVR19.6 billion. Due to higher spending compared to earnings, the overall balance for the period is a deficit of MVR6.9 billion; which stretched out from the previous review date. State Electric Company (STELCO) hosted a lucky draw to award the unsold housing flats from its “Blue Ridge” towers. A total of 16, 2+1 bedrooms apartments and another 16, 1 bedroom apartments of the two housing towers remained unsold. Tuesday’s lucky draw awarded 17 out of these units. STELCO reports 75 of its employees were eligible for 1 bedroom units. On the other hand, 235 employees were eligible for the 2+1 bedrooms units.
