Visit Maldives is collaborating with popular Russian tour operator, TEZ Tour to maintain the interest and potential increment of arrivals from the Russian market to the island nation.

Russia has maintained top spot as the strongest single source market to the Maldives while arrivals from the country are expected to pick up in numbers during the upcoming tourism peak season in the country.

Moreover, Visit Maldives is collaborating with TEZ Tour on a special campaign that initiated in August and will run through September as well. The campaign aims to target travelers and tourism industry stakeholders in Russia.

The destination promotion efforts by Visit Maldives in association with TEZ Tour include dedicated advertising and other promotional activities on social media platforms, TV and Radio, travel blogs as well as through webinars.

Furthermore, Visit Maldives reports the campaign will involve advertising efforts on Euronews and other popular regional TV stations and radio channels.

Visit Maldives estimates the efforts will reach close to 15 million viewers from the target audience.

Meanwhile, the campaign aims to promote the island nation’s safety and security to Russian travelers with emphasis made on geographical advantages of the country. Furthermore, the campaign will continue to reiterate the popularity of Maldives as a travel destination in the Russian market.

Ministry of Tourism’s latest updates, as of 18th August, reveal that Russia has remained as the top source market to Maldives so far in 2021 with a total arrival of 154,380 up to the review date which accounts for 22% of the total tourist arrivals to the country.

Visit Maldives has maintained a busy portfolio of tourism promotion with campaigns run through Expedia, FAM Trips and roadshows, MITT 2021, Moscow Dive Show as well as the Luxury Travel Mart (LTM) Moscow.

Other efforts included the photo exhibition in collaboration with National Geographic in Moscow.

Meanwhile, ongoing activities to promote Maldives tourism in Russia include activities by Maldives Online Academy ATOR, Moya Planeta TV show as well as the photo exhibition at St. Petersburg.

Prospective activities with a main focus on the Russian market for the year also include webinars for travel and trade, joint campaigns, media FAM trips from Ukraine as well as the participation in the Ukraine International Travel Market and the Deluxe Travel Market.
