    Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has taken part in the AdeventureElevate 2022 in the US to promote the island nation as the “World’s Leading Destination.”

    During the event that was held from 03rd to 05th of May 2022 in Oregon, US, MMPRC helped to maintain and strengthen the destination awareness in the US traveler market.

    The 3-day event was hosted by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), and during the “intensive and educational networking conference” MMPRC participated for collaborative learning, ideate on innovative solutions and take part in “conversations on how to change the world for better through travel.”

    The 2022 edition’s theme is “shine” which highlighted through though-leading educational sessions and creative networking.

    As usual MMPRC maintained its marketing focus on promoting the island nation as a safe haven for travelers while highlighting the safety measures provided by the unique geography of the scattered islands.

    The United States has slowly become a significant source market to the Maldives, with a total of 55,760 reported travelers visiting the island nation from the Western giant in 2021. Meanwhile in 2022, as of 20th April the total number of travelers from US was recorded at 24,171 making the market the sixth strongest source market to the Maldivian tourism industry.
