All major perishables items saw notable decline in imported quantity during December 2023, reports Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).
MPL, that manages and oversees operations of the Male’ Commercial Harbor reports, the most significant decline in import numbers of fast moving perishable commodities like Pineapple, Cabbage and Banana. The first two observed 29% drop each with the third observing a 24% decline.
During the month, MPL cleared 4,540 containers, which is 6,443 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). This includes 2,637 units of 20 feet containers and 1,903 of 40 feet containers.
