According to latest statistics from Ministry of Tourism, the tourist arrivals to Maldives so far has inched closer to hitting 1 million. Italy’s carrier Neos resumes their direct flight operations to the Maldives. According to the airline, their flights will make landings at the Velana International Airport (VIA) on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays every week. As per the latest updates from the Ministry of Finance, the state expenditure has reached MVR22,915.9 million (MVR22.9 billion) as of 14th October 2021. Moreover, the state revenues inclusive of grants observed a slight increment from the previous week reaching a cumulative total of MVR15,180.4 million (MVR15.2 billion).
