    Maldives attract 1.2 million guests, up 10.2%

    Maldives attracts 1.2 million tourists so far in 2024, a 10.2% increase

    The Maldives has attracted over 1.2 million tourists as of August 6, 2024 according to the Ministry of Tourism.

    According to the ministry’s statistics, the island nation has attracted 1,221,816 tourists from January 1 to August 6, which is a 10.2% increment in annual terms compared to the same period last year, during which arrivals stood at 1,108,715.

    6. India: 73,258
    7. USA: 43,022
    8. France: 36,732
    9. Switzerland: 25,011
    10. Spain: 23,598

    Total arrivals from August 1 to 6 saw a 15.7% increment, registering 38,759 arrivals compared to the 33,488 arrivals observed in the same period in 2023.

    The daily arrival average is 5,579 in annual terms and the average duration of stay in annual terms is 7.7 days.

    So far in August, the highest single-day arrival was recorded on August 3, with an arrival of 7,012, and the lowest single-day arrival was observed on August 6, with an arrival of 5,579.
