Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday evening, has departed for Liverpool, United Kingdom to participate in the commencement of the Maldives tourism promotion campaign in collaboration with Liverpool Football Club.

This campaign is part of the co-branded initiative between Liverpool FC and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives).

The partnership was announced earlier on March 13, when MMPRC revealed it has become the “Official Tourist Destination Partner” for Liverpool FC. The collaboration launches a global campaign spanning three and half years with the aim of amplifying brand visibility and attract more travelers to the Maldives.

To strengthen the initiative further, MMPRC under its Visit Maldives brand launched an outdoor campaign in the UK on March 27th to attract visitors through the Liverpool FC partnership.

During his visit, President Muizzu will meet with Maldivian students and visit the AXA Training Centre, where he will observe best practices in football training and coaching.

Additionally, relevant ministers will meet with senior officials from Red Way and LFC Academy to discuss joint marketing initiatives to promote tourism and strengthen the partnership between the Maldives and Liverpool FC.

The Minister of Tourism Thoriq Ibrahim, Minister of Sports Abdulla Rafiu, and the Managing Director of MMPRC Ibrahim Shiuree along with other relevant senior government officials are accompanying President Muizzu in his trip.
