The Ministry of Education on Monday has contracted three local companies for the completion of unfinished school development projects in 18 islands.

The ministry has contracted Road Development Corporation (RDC), Fenaka Corporation and the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) for these projects at a combined project total of MVR 114.9 million.

Out of the three contractors, MTCC was awarded the most number of projects to complete.

During the signing ceremony held at the ministry’s premises on Monday, the Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu signed on behalf of the government authority. MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudhee, RDC’s front man Brigadier General (Retired) Ali Zuhair, and Fenaka Corporation’s honcho Major (Retired) Mohamed Najah signed on behalf of their respective corporations.

These projects, despite being funded by the state, have stalled as their previous contractors had failed to mobilize and commence operations.

Apart from awarding these unfinished projects, the trio of companies had been awarded with fresh school developmental projects a few days earlier.
