The Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has arrived in Malta on Monday on an official visit.
During his trip to Malta, Minister Khaleel is expected to meet his counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Ian Borg. The two are expected to engage in talks to enhance the bilateral ties between the Maldives and Malta and exchange views on key issues of mutual interest.
The minister is also expected to meet with key cabinet ministers of Malta to discuss and explore new opportunities for enhanced cooperation between the two nations. Discussions would mainly focus on notable areas of shared interest such as environmental conservation, sustainable development, the transition to renewable energy, and enhancement of trade and tourism ties.
Minister Khaleel is accompanied by Dr. Hala Hameed, Secretary, and Hassan Hussain Shihaab, Senior Under Secretary of the ministry.
