The Bank of Maldives (BML) on Tuesday acknowledged an issue with the bank’s systems that saw money deducted from some personal accounts twice.
The issue has now been resolved according to BML.
Several BML customers had taken to social media to complain regarding the issue, with some alleging potential foul play. Customers had raised concerns regarding these double deductions which had reduced their available balances.
The national bank responded to one such customer complaint on X, noting that some settled transactions appeared as pending due to which the balance had been affected. BML however, assured these transactions would be reverted at the earliest.
