Ayesha Nurain Janah, a prominent Maldivian entrepreneur and governance advocate, has been named among the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) 2025 cohort of Young Global Leaders (YGL). She is the sole representative from the Maldives in this year’s class of 116 exceptional individuals under 40, selected for their transformative impact across industries and geographies.
The YGL Class of 2025 includes a diverse group of leaders—from heads of state and tech innovators to artists and scientists—spanning nearly 50 countries. They are united by a commitment to shaping a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient world.
Janah currently serves as the Group Vice Chair at Hotels and Resorts Investment Maldives (HARIM), where she leads strategy, operations, and investment growth across luxury real estate, marine services, and sustainable development. She is also the Chairperson of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), overseeing the promotion of the Maldives as a premier tourist destination.
Beyond her corporate roles, Janah is the Founder of Rehendhi Consulting, a global advisory firm specializing in ESG strategy, corporate governance, and inclusive leadership. She also established the Kandūfā Foundation, supporting leadership development, environmental stewardship, and cultural preservation in South Asia.
Janah’s appointment to the YGL community underscores her dedication to responsible leadership and her efforts to drive positive change both within the Maldives and internationally.
The Forum of Young Global Leaders was established to cultivate a diverse, intergenerational community of individuals redefining leadership in the 21st century. Over the next three years, the Class of 2025 will engage in a curated leadership journey, including academic modules, immersive learning experiences, and global convenings aligned with the World Economic Forum’s mission.
