Marking International Children’s Day, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu delivered a heartfelt message underscoring the crucial role children play as the peace of every heart and the foundation of national continuity. He described the proper upbringing of children as the greatest assurance for a prosperous future for the Maldives.

In his address, President Muizzu emphasised the importance of raising a strong, capable generation prepared to uphold the nation’s sovereignty, dignity, and civilisation. He called on all Maldivians to take collective responsibility in safeguarding children from harmful influences and to foster environments grounded in compassion, respect, and ethical conduct.

The President highlighted the significance of providing children with both contemporary and forward-looking education and training. He stressed that these efforts should instill values, practical skills, and a strong sense of national service. Dr Muizzu expressed his hope that today’s children would uphold the nation’s glory and dignity in the years to come while remaining rooted in Islamic principles and prepared for leadership.

Encouraging children directly, the President urged them to embrace continuous learning, strive for daily self-improvement, and deepen their understanding of Islam. He advised young Maldivians to observe the five daily prayers, cherish Maldivian traditions, and nurture a deep love for their country.

In a message shared via social media, President Muizzu also noted the importance of educating children about today’s global challenges. He reaffirmed that building a courageous and wise generation capable of leading the nation forward requires the collective effort and commitment of every citizen.
