    Inbound travelers to produce PCR test results not exceeding 96 hours

    Tuesday, 27th July – A recent circular from Civil Aviation Authority of Maldives reveal the accepted PCR test result time-frame for all inbound travelers should not exceed 96 hours.

    Moreover the circular makes confirmation that the PCR negative test result not exceeding the time-frame is effective on all inbound tourists regardless of their nationality.

    According to the circular, passenger categories as per Civil Aviation Authority, for which PCR negative test results include;

    • All tourists (under tourist visa)
    • Special visa holders
    • Business visa holders
    • Foreign Diplomats (and their accompanying family members)
    • Transiting airline crew members
    • Ship crew arriving via air
    • Work visa holders
    • Maldivian nationals

    All inbound travelers from above categories must all possess a negative test result for a nucleic acid test (PCR) for Covid-19 prior to their entry into Maldivian waters.

    Travelers with PCR tests results not exceeding 96-hour time frame will still have validity for entry even if they make transits in between, granted the transit does not exceed 24 hours. They must retake a PCR test should the transit exceed 24 hours.
